to me rather than automated version, this seems too similar to one i've come across called Cockatrice, which is a MTG game written in C++, and is extremely similar in UI for the databases. only main diff between the 2 is that Cockatrice has an official server with lobby where you can chat to meet and host games, so you may want to ask some people over there on some tips

though right now, one suggestion i'd like to make is to add in a shortcut and function for drawing your hand and a mulligan
Cockatrice is open code, it's write not only in C++, but in C++ using the Qt Grafic LIbrary. If someone can catch the code and adapt too vanguard..

Anyway, give me some material and i can study and help u J_BYYX. You want to still working with python?

Actually I would like to start working on another engine than this one. This one is getting on my nerves for a long time, but I don't have enough knowledge and skills in python to do everything I want :/

Anyway, I'm currently looking for people to work on automatic vanguard game based on ygocore/ygopro...

Grab a different language besides Python?  I'm in.  Tried to do something automatic like that with BYOND, but decided that BYOND wasn't the best option.  Doable, but kind of a pain.  And at this point, I'd honestly want something that will still be able to read the existing database and images.  Would be rather a pain to redo all of that considering there are over 1,000 cards now.  So yeah.  I'm all for helping in any way I can.  Coding included.  Just need to learn whatever language is being used.

c++ or c# for game engine, and lua for card effects.

Been wanting to learn C# anyways.  Just need some learning material.  ^^  You can catch me on skype at kotathehalliwelldemon or yahoo at theoneandonlyfirestorm if you wanna chat about it.  Totally in on learning and coding in C.  Lua I'm not highly aware of at the moment, but I'm pretty sure I'll have no problems with it either.

This engine is getting on my nerves for too long.
I stopped working on it so many times (back in ygo/J_PROJECT days), I guess I'm stopping this time for real.

If someone still wants to uses it just grab source from google code and do whatever you want.
I may help with something, but do not expect much...
